Different Features Of Custom Cars That Are Available

Custom cars tend to be passenger vehicles that have been altered. Alterations my include replacing the engine, changing the style by adding new paint jobs or wraps, or to changing a comfort feature in the car. While a standard car can be customized, customizations can also be done on a street rod, hot rod, or any number of other vehicles.

Custom Cars and Themes

Restomod: Restored, but in a more modern way, so that they add safety, comfort, convenience features and upgrades to create the custom cars. Some features include: AC, overdrive upgrades, fuel injection, disc brakes, etc.

Street Rods: While there is some overlap on hot rods with street rods, they usually tend to emulate specific eras, such as the 1940s.

Street Machines: If you've ever watched Need For Speed or Fast and Furious, these are considered street machines -- American or Japanese made cars that have larger engines that are specifically modified for speed and appearance.

Hotrods: Hotrods tend to be classic American cars that have been modified for speed. Hotrods were popular from the early 1920s on up to the 1960s, with new modern hotrods popping up even today.

Features Of Custom Cars

Paint: Paint can literally include any color, style, or technique that the owner wants. If you want black fleck paint with red and orange flames - go for it. Customizers who design custom cars will often add decorative paint or designs after the main coat of paint is finished.

While any car can be any color, if you're looking to restore a car to its original look, you need a customizer that has the knowledge of what those colors are and the ability to get their hands on those colors.

Interior/Upholstery: If you want something that was more like the original, you'll need a customizer who has the eye and knowledge for that sort of thing. On the other hand, if you just want to create a really cool and comfortable car, you can add just about any material to the interior, with different visual aspects and colors.

This isn't just about seats or upholstery. You can customize dashboard colors and materials, flooring, door panels, steering wheels, and anything else you want to be customized.

Audio Enhancements: For some people, custom cars are about restoring it to the T back to the car's look right off the factory floor. These aren't going to be cars that just sit in their garage for the next 50 years, they will be drivable - even if only to the next car show. This is why audio enhancements for their custom cars are a must.
